Banyan is led by Douglas Gordon and Dean Butters, bringing more than 40 years of combined experience across development and construction. Together, they provide hands-on leadership across planning, coordination, and execution.

Holding a number of executive roles for large commercial and residential general contractors in South Florida, he has developed a very diverse skillset having lead teams through due-diligence budgeting, preconstruction/estimating, value engineering, and project management. He is an experienced operations manager with extensive knowledge of South Florida building codes, product approvals, operations means and methods, and preventative warranty methods.
Having spent significant time working with Owners and Developers, he became more adept in the disciplines leading up to construction like entitlements, feasibility studies, and coordinating design teams. This led to an opportunity as a VP of Development where he sourced deals, negotiated contracts, managed due diligence, and qualified design teams in addition to managing construction for large manufacturing projects.
Douglas is a member of the Palm Beach County Business Development Board, Economic Development Council of St. Lucie County (EDC), and volunteers his time with XCEL Mentorship by mentoring underserved youth between the ages of 13-17 on vocational training in the construction industry.
Outside of work, his family is paramount. He is the lucky husband to his high school sweetheart, now wife, Melissa of 15 years and father of their 3 incredible children. He enjoys fishing, golf, and training.

Dean’s passion for commercial real estate was ignited by his training in the Real Estate Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and stoked by his subsequent role as a commercial real estate broker. After his tenure in brokerage, Dean spent twelve years on the staff of a large non-profit organization building and managing their 1,000,000 square foot real estate portfolio. Since moving to Palm Beach County, Florida in 2017, he has worked in development with Hedrick Brothers Construction and Collins Development Company. At Hedrick Brothers, he started their development division and planned, financed and built Watson Hall, a 163,000 square foot student residence at Palm Beach Atlantic University. At Collins Development, he worked with Busch Wildlife to entitle their 20-acre property in Jupiter Farms, entitled a 17-unit luxury townhome development on the Intra-Coastal Waterway in Martin County, and worked with clients to entitle office, education and retail properties.
Dean is a member of the Palm Beach County Business Development Board, Economic Development Council of St. Lucie County and the University of Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association. He resides in Jupiter with his wife Rachael and their two children. Outside of family and work he enjoys reading and fitness.
